Amazon's review policy in 2026: what changed

1 Jul 2026 · 1 min

The enforcement wave hit insert cards hardest. Here's the updated wording checklist for sellers.

What actually changed

The policy text is largely the same as 2024 — what changed is enforcement. Amazon's 2026 sweeps use image recognition on inserts photographed in review images and returns processing, so a non-compliant card in the box is now discoverable even if no customer reports it.

The enforcement priorities

  • Insert wording tying any reward to a review — the largest category of 2026 suspensions.
  • Star imagery next to a review ask, even without explicit "5-star" text.
  • Off-platform funnels that branch — showing the Amazon review link only to happy customers.

The 2026 wording checklist

  • ✓ "Scan to register your warranty" / "We'd love your honest feedback"
  • ✗ "Free gift for a review" — in any phrasing, any language
  • ✗ Star graphics, smiley-to-frowny scales near the review ask
  • ✗ "Contact us before leaving negative feedback"
