Getting reviews for service businesses

1 Jul 2026 · 1 min

Salons, clinics and home services: collecting Google reviews with QR codes at the point of service.

The moment matters more than the ask

For services, the review window is minutes, not days. A customer who just paid for a haircut, a cleaning or a repair is at peak satisfaction at the counter — by the time an SMS arrives that evening, response rates drop 5–10x.

Where to put the QR

  • Billing counter standee — the highest-volume placement; scan happens while the payment processes.
  • Printed invoice or receipt — works for home services where there's no counter.
  • Appointment-reminder message — a follow-up for customers who didn't scan in person.

Give the front desk a script

Placement alone gets 1–2% scan rates. A one-line script — "scan this and you'll get ₹100 off your next visit" — takes the same standee to 15–20%. The reward is for the claim; the review ask comes after, neutrally.

Route to Google, not a form

ReviewBuddie funnels for service businesses end at your Google Business review page. Every customer gets the same link — unhappy ones are additionally offered your manager's contact to resolve issues, which is customer service, not gating.
